Storing in the freezer or cooler

Most of these can be made well before your camping trip and stored in the freezer. Then just toss them in the cooler on the day of your trip and they’ll be ready for any morning breakfast.

Here are a couple of tips for keeping them fresh:

  • If its got avocado in it, add some lemon juice after pureeing to minimize avocado browning.
  • Use paper towel to remove excess grease from bacon.
  • I recommend not freezing cooked steak. It will be more likely to toughen. Steak tastes much better cooked fresh.
  • Tightly wrap the burrito in either plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Aluminum foil is great because you can toss it on the campfire to heat. However, plastic wrap works better for freezing before hand as it will seal in the freshness.
