Best Griddle Tables and Stands for Table Top Griddles

Today we’re talking about the best portable griddle table to set your flat top grill on when cooking up some famous camping meals.

Portable griddles are great for tailgating before the big game or taking out to the campsite on the weekend. They are easy to use and to clean up afterwards. Plus they have tons of room for cooking your favorite meals and there is no wasted space on the cooking surface.

One thing that people often overlook when thinking about getting a portable griddle though, is where to set it when cooking.

At first, you might think, “hey, I’ll save some space by plopping my flat top griddle down on the ground.”

But, try that a few times and you’re sure to want something that’s level and high enough so you don’t have to be bent over while cooking. You’ll also appreciate having a surface with some extra space for prepping meals and storing grilling utensils.

What are you looking for in a Griddle Table/Griddle Stand?

Sometimes you don’t know what you need until you buy something, try it out and find out that it’s not what you were hoping for after all. The problem is you’ve already made the purchase and now you feel stuck with it. You might end up using it for years even though you know there is something much better suited to you out there.

That’s why it’s so important to really think about your needs before making a decision. When I picture myself at the campground getting ready to cook up dinner on a flat top griddle I know I want a griddle stand and griddle table to make life easier. So what kind of product is actually going to achieve that?

Number One: Griddle Table Size

The griddle stand obviously has to be big enough to comfortably hold the griddle itself. That’s the main objective of the stand afterall. Aside from that, I also want it to have a little extra space on the side to cut up vegetables and hold my beer while I’m grilling. You might also want to keep spices and cutlery close by the grill.

Make sure you know the dimensions of your griddle plus the general size of the area that you like to have for meal prep and storage close by.

Number Two: Griddle Table Portability and Ease of Setup

If you’ve got a big truck with lots of room to throw your gear in the box then portability might not matter all that much to you. But if you don’t, then there’s a good chance you’ll want an outdoor griddle table that is able to fold down as small as possible.

Sometimes folding down small can also result in more difficulty setting up. Luckily, most portable griddle tables are relatively easy to unfold and set up.

Number Three: Durability

If you’re investing your money into some camping gear, then you want that gear to last a long time. When it comes to griddle stands, you also want them to stand up straight and hold the weight of your griddle as well as any other gear you place on it.

Take a good look at the materials being used and the thickness of the supports. You can usually tell when something looks rather flimsy and like it will surely bend with a little weight placed on it. Also look at the position of support cross braces. Does it look like there are enough to keep the legs from bending or collapsing?

Number Four: Versatility

The primary purpose of your griddle stand will be to hold your grill when cooking. However, if you can, then you might as well get something that serves multiple purposes. Having a bit of storage space for kitchen items is one great feature. But being able to use it for a game of cards or to hold the crokinole board is also nice.

Best all around Griddle Table – GCI Outdoor Slim Fold

ProsCons
Big unit with lots of storage spaceSide table weight limit (10 lbs)
Durable, sturdy constructionSpills on the countertop will drip below
Folds nearly flat for transportCenter rack is hard to access
Fits almost all 2 burner griddles

If you’re looking for a full on camping cook station that holds your griddle and provides plenty of space for storage and meal prep, then the GCI Outdoor Slim Fold Camping Cook Station should be at the top of the list for you.

The biggest advantage to this griddle table is that it has plenty of space to hold your grill while still being able to cut up vegetables and keep your barbecue sauces on the side tables. The main countertop measures 24 inches by 16 inches which is large enough to hold most single burner and double burner griddles like the Blackstone 22 inch table top griddle.

It comes with 4 plastic fold out side tables in addition to the main tabletop station. The main countertop is made of aluminum so it won’t rust even if you spill on it, which surely will happen. While the grooves between the aluminum panels do make cleaning up spills easier, they also make anything that is stored on the rack below susceptible to being dripped on. In my opinion, a solid countertop would be better for this model.

While I do like all of the added storage features offered by the fold out side tables, they are only rated for 10 pounds each. This is fine for storing some cups and other kitchen items, but be careful not to push down or lean on it too hard.

Another thing I really like about the GCI outdoor griddle table and camping cook station is that it folds down nearly flat and has a convenient carrying handle which makes it easy to move around.

Overall, I am really impressed and don’t think you’ll find a better truly portable griddle stand than this one for taking out on a  car camping adventure.

Best griddle stand for a Blackstone table top griddle – Blackstone Universal Griddle Stand

Pros Cons
Adjustable legsWon’t fit other griddles
Heavy duty designLimited storage space
Fits Blackstone griddle perfectly

Blackstone griddles are probably the most popular flat top grills for campers. They have a following like none other and people search far and wide to find deals at their local Walmart’s for these units.

If you have a 17 inch or 22 inch Blackstone table top griddle, then adding in the universal griddle stand makes sense since it has been designed specifically for those models. As you would hope, the griddle fits perfectly on top of the stand and the griddle feet fit right into the holes on the stand so there is no worry of it sliding around or falling off of the stand.

This griddle stand and table is made from highly durable steel materials that won’t bend or break easily. The side table is also very sturdy and clips into the stand rather than folding down which makes it all the more durable and able to hold heavier items.

I do find the side table to be a little small, especially since there are no other storage surfaces available on this griddle table. I do wish it was a bit bigger and maybe had a couple of hooks in the front for hanging a spatula and tongs.

The adjustable legs are a really nice feature so you are often working with unlevel ground at the campsite so being able to fine tune the leg heights is a definite plus. I also like the ability to fold the legs in easily for moving it to and from the campsite.

If you have a Blackstone table top griddle and don’t need the extra storage space, then this is a great, well built unit for the diehard Blackstoners.

Giantex Folding Griddle Table

Pros Cons
Easy setup and take downCan’t always use wind guards, depending on griddle size
Carrying caseNot as durable as other models
Enclosed storageCanvas storage area can get dirty in rain
Wind guards

There are some unique differences with the Giantex Folding Griddle Table that I absolutely love.

For one, the wind guards on the aluminum countertop are a really practical feature for cooking outdoors. People often complain that their camping griddles are susceptible to blowing breezes that either knock out their flame or reduce the heat substantially. The wind guards eliminate this issue and can be adjusted or completely removed when not needed.

The other feature that you’ll notice as soon as you look at this griddle stand is the fabric storage space on the side. It’s a great spot to store dry foods and dinnerware when out at the campsite. The zipper makes it easy to close so you can keep chipmunks away. It’s also a great way to keep dirt and dust off of your camping cups, plates and cutlery.

Another thing you’ll notice right away is that there is a lot of counter space with this unit. The main countertop is large enough for a 22 inch Blackstone griddle and most other 2 burner grills as well.

In addition to that, there is a large side table on one side that is fully supported by four legs, making it more sturdy for chopping vegetables. The smaller side table on the opposite side is great for placing spices, barbecue sauce and your drink while grilling.

Overall, despite the fact that it is not quite as sturdy as the GCI Outdoor griddle table, this is a really nice product for anyone looking for some enclosed storage space and lots of counter space.

The Most Basic Camping Griddle Table – REDCAMP Aluminum Folding Table

Pros Cons
LightweightNo storage space
Folds very smallSmall
Height adjustable
Small, portable and foldable camping table for griddle table and stand.
PRICE CHECK

Not everyone needs loads of storage and meal preparation space. If you’re just looking for something that you can set your grill on while out for a day at the beach or if you simply don’t need all the extra space, then the REDCAMP aluminum folding camp table might be just what you’re looking for.

This table is very basic, having only one countertop surface that measures 24” x 16” when open. It folds down to 16” x 12” for carrying and is only 3” thick, making it the most compact griddle table we’ve looked at. However, that size is big enough to hold a single burner or two burner griddle.

The legs are adjustable with three different heights available, being 10 inches, 19 inches or 26 inches.

At only 6.5 pounds in weight, this table is completely portable and has multiple uses.

Camco Deluxe Grilling Table

Pros Cons
Tons of storage spaceFiberboard side tables
Handy grill utensil hooks
Carry bag included

The Camco Deluxe Griddle Table is an interesting piece that maximizes space and usability. The way that they accomplish this is what’s so interesting. The support braces are designed in such a way that you don’t often see. The braces don’t cross over the bottom shelf, making it easy to get to and store camping equipment in a space that is often unusable.

This griddle table has enough space to comfortably hold a 2 burner griddle on the main countertop, with extra space on the two side tables.

While the main space is made of aluminum which is really great, the side tables are made from fibreboard. This is definitely a concern for me. Camping tables are meant to be outside and will almost definitely get rained on at some point. Fibreboard has a tendency to absorb moisture, causing the wood to swell and bulge.

I do really like the lower storage rack and the fact that it is easy to use. I also find the utensil hooks to be a great touch and they are super useful for hanging grilling utensils.

For storage and transportation, the aluminum countertop is removed so that the structure can be folded. It is really easy to fold and is quite compact as well. The whole thing fits nicely in the carrying bag which is included with this product.

Overall, I think this is a good option that looks nice and provides enough storage and counter space. I do wish the side tables were made from something other than fiberboard though.
